Engineering Quarter is one of the game's most important buildings. You can upgrade Towers here as well as research new towers and give them new skills and talents.

Improving Towers[]

Your Towers can be improved in three ways:

  • Fortify: Makes your towers stronger. It requires gold and resources (first Rainbow Ore, then Fairy Wood, and later Black Gold). These are won from world levels and Level Taxes. Plus there is a cooldown between tower upgrades, which means you cannot improve many levels at once. You have to do it little by little. Each upgrade adds some minutes based on the current level (for example 15 minutes when upgrading from level 19 to 20, or 30 minutes when upgrading from level 20 to 21), and when the timer passes 1 hour you need to wait. In practice this means that you can make a limited number of consecutive upgrades before you have to wait. As with all timers you can use Diamonds to speed things up.
  • Research: Unlocks new towers. Requires Gold (or specific items in Facebook), Dark Soul Crystal and Notch Rock
  • Talents: Unlocked at Kingdom Level 30, require Stars and Tear of Shiva

NOTE: The game terminology treats the starting towers as tier 0, the first upgrade as tier 1, and the maximum upgrade tier 3 towers. These towers can each gain up to two special skills, but this does not change the tier.

Fortify[]

Every upgrade increases Tower Damage (and HP for Barracks) and gives it 1 Star. 4 Stars raises Tower to the next level.

For Arrow, Mage and Cannoner Towers up until level 60 each upgrade increases damage by 4% points or higher (most of the time) or 5% points. For example, upgrading Cannoners from level 14-2 stars to level 14-3 stars changes the bonus from 249% to 254%.

Starting with level 60 each upgrade increases base damage by 8%. For example, upgrading Mage Towers from level 60-0 stars to level 60-1 star changes the bonus from 1091% to 1099%; upgrading Cannoners from level 61-0 stars to level 61-1 star changes the bonus from 1123% to 1131%; upgrading Arrow towers from level 61-2 stars to level 61-3 stars changes the bonus from 1139% to 1147%.

For Barracks - damage by 3% points and 16 HP most of the time, with an occasional 4% points and 17HP (or higher). For example, upgrading Barracks from level 16-3 stars to Level 17-no stars changes the damage from 196% to 200% and HP from 1023 to 1040.

Starting with level 60 each upgrade increases damage by 6% and 32 HP (occasionally 33 HP). For example, upgrading Barracks from level 60-0 stars to level 60-1 star changes the damage from 737% to 743% and the HP bonus from 3835 to 3867; upgrading Barracks from level 60-1 star to level 60-2 stars changes the damage from 743% to 749% (+6%) and the HP bonus from 3867 to 3900 (+33).

Research[]

Research unlocks the higher tiers and skills of the towers.

Note: Tier 3 Towers do not have any special effects beyond the normal damage and range increase until those effects are researched at the Engineering Quarter and then enabled in battle at the cost of some goods. For example, an Oiler will not actually cause a slow effect on mobs until its Jumbo Vat ability is activated.

Tower Talent Access

Unlock at Kingdom Level 30

Each tower has 5 talents and all talents are limited to level 10 as maximum.

To upgrade all talents, you need 600 Stars and 24,000 Tear of Shiva.

Strategy: Tears of Shiva are more useful here than on Soldier upgrades, since they not only increase Battle Power but also improve the tower defense part of the game.

Arrow Tower[]

Although not equipped with great damage, arrow towers have a wide attack radius. Can attack flying enemies.

Arrow Tower Tiers[]

  1. Arrow Tower - cost to build: 70, base dmg 150 - 200, attack speed 650ms, range 140
    Although not equipped with great damage, arrow towers have a wide attack radius.
  2. Marksman Tower, cost to upgrade: 100, base dmg 250 - 350, attack speed 600ms, range 150
    With better equipped archers, these towers have better range and damage.
  3. Hands of God Tower, cost to upgrade: 160, base dmg 350 - 510, attack speed 550ms, range 160
    This tower, nicknamed the Hands of God, is stationed with experienced rangers who attack from higher range and output more damage.
  4. Jungle Warfare, cost to upgrade: 245, base dmg 365 - 600, attack speed 500ms, range 170
    Rangers that choose the path of jungle warfare, they shoot armor-penetrating arrows from the shadows at amazing speeds.
    • Torque Bow : Made from the wood of ancient forest, these bows have much better range.(Passive skill: increase range of the tower by 80 at level 3)

    • Focus : Each additional arrow taken by an enemy from the same tower deals more damage.(Passive skill: very ineffective due to almost unnoticeable amount of damage increase during battle.)

  5. Sniper Lookout, cost to upgrade 260, base dmg 830 - 1500, attack speed 1200ms, range 210
    Rangers that choose the path of the sniper, they shoot from distances dealing heavy damage to single targets.
    • .50 Cal : Rifleman has a chance to take out an enemy in one head shot.(Active skill: work similarly to punisher of geo tower) (enemies appear with a crosshair icon). Initial purchase costs 250 and offers a 20% chance to one shot kill or deal 3-5 times damage. Second and third purchase each cost 200 more with 60% chance to one shot kill or deal 5-7 or 7-9 times damage respectively. "Headshot!"
    • Tranquilizer : An ungraded tranquilizer to deal with bigger, badder monsters.(active skill: stun an enemy for a short time). "Nap time..."
  6. Assassin Syndicate, cost to upgrade 250, base dmg 600 - 935, attack speed 800ms, range 170
    Assassins are rangers trained in the arts of the shadows and use deadly daggers to attack enemies.
    • Fly Cutter : Refined, magic imbued steel. These blades bounce to one additional enemy when thrown.(Passive skill: Actually bounces to two additional enemies, not one). "Fast as lightning."

    • Explosive Shot : Designed to explode on impact, these bullets leave their target burning.(active skill: One of the assassins throws a bomb that creates a large burning area on the ground. Anything standing in the flames will continue to receive damage. Seems to be a relatively short cooldown, and the two assassins in the tower each have their own bombs. Multiple flaming grounds stack on the damage, so an enemy standing in the middle of five fires dies very quickly) (burning damage increased per upgrades). "Kaboom!"

Barracks[]

Basic barracks used to house new recruits. Do not confuse with Barracks, the building used to recruit soldiers for the PVP part of the game.

Cannot attack fliers, except Coliseum (Gladiators) if they have the Pike upgrade, and Clergymen from the Hall of Divinity.

(Works best to stall fast but weak enemies so other towers have time to kill them before they get past the tower. Or to stall some enemies until others arrive so they're all bunched up for AOE towers and Blizzard to hit. On bosses who kill even Sir Lance Alotte in one hit, a cheap Tier 1 Guard Barrack stalls them just as well as an expensive Tier 4 Cavalry Quarters or Coliseum)

Barracks Tiers[]

1.  Recruit Barracks cost to build: 70, base dmg: 50 - 100, base HP: 1350, no armor, 6HP/s

Basic barracks used to house new recruits.

2.  Guard Barracks, cost to upgrade: 100, base dmg: 100 - 150, base HP: 2650, low armor (10%)

Upgraded barracks quarters to house the meatier and stronger royal guard.

3.  Paladin Barracks, cost to upgrade: 160, base dmg: 150 - 350, base HP: 4000, low armor (10%)

Top-notch barracks home to the paladins, the elite fighting force of the kingdom.

4a.  Cavalry Quarters, cost to upgrade: 240 (13 second respawn time), base dmg: 350 - 550, base HP: 5400, Cavalry start with medium armor (40%).

Paladins that choose they way of the horse, these knights are damage enduring warriors.

  • Giant Shield: Gives soldiers bigger, better shields. increases soldier armor (10-15-20% armor).
  • (passive skill: increase the soldiers' armor with each upgrade. Soldiers will get heavy armor at level 3). "Shield me!"
  • Valiant Taunt: An angry taunt directed to nearby enemies. Allows soldiers to tank more than one enemy. (3 seconds). "Bring it on!"

4b.  Coliseum . cost to upgrade: 290 (13 second respawn time), base dmg: 450 - 680, base HP: 8000, no armor

Paladins that have strayed from the order, becoming gladiator champions focused on dealing damage.

  • Pike: Equip soldiers with pikes and allows them to attack from a distance.(40 - 80 -120)
  • (passive skill: Gives your gladiators a ranged attack that they'll use until the enemy gets into their melee aggro radius. They can now damage fliers too, but still can't stall them). "Try and get past me!"
  • Piercing Pike: Soldiers have been taught to wield pikes in melee combat, beware.(1.1~3,3 times to 3.3~5.5 times and 5.5~7.7 times). "Feel the kiss of my steel..."
  • (active skill:  The Gladiator will use a rapid strike attack to do extra damage. Unknown cooldown)

4c.  Hall of Divinity cost to upgrade: 220 (13 second respawn time), base dmg: 330 - 500 (ranged magic attack), base HP: 6700, no armor

Hall of the Paladins who decide to devote their life to the divine, they call upon divine powers to smite their enemies.

  • Healer: Fundamental mage healing powers, heals friendly units (50%-60%-70% heal power). "I'll patch you right up!"
  • Slow Magic: Slowing magic to put enemies in favorable positions.(15% - 30% - 50%). "Where do you think you're going?"

Cannoner[]

Dwarven wielded, basic cannon. Deals area of effect damage. Can't attack flying enemies, except Tier 3 Bombardier with Tracker Shot ability.

(use on paths with large quantities of enemies. Try to hold enemies in place with Militia, Barracks, and stuns to bunch them up for the cannon blasts to hit all of them at once. Can not target Fliers (splash damage will still hit fliers if there a cannoner hits a ground unit under the flier), except for the Bombadier's Tracker Shot.

Cannoner Tiers[]

1.  Cannoner Cost to build : 100, base dmg 300 - 450, attack speed 2700ms, range 150

Dwarven wielded, basic cannonDeal area of effect damage.

2.  Artilliar, cost to upgrade: 150, base dmg 550 - 900, attack speed 2600ms, range 160

With upgraded projectiles, this cannon deals more damage and has a larger effect radius.

3.  Mortarer, cost to upgrade: 240, base dmg 950 - 1350, attack speed 2600ms, range 170

With alterations to the chamber and more effective projectiles powered by the new gunpowder, it deals even more damage and is effective at even longer ranges.

4a.  Bombadier (Slow attack speed), base dmg 1315 - 1970, attack speed 2400ms, range 190

The bombadier is considered THE heavy artilleryThe craters left by its projectiles tend to be about the size of a wagon.

  • Shrapnel Shot : The cluster bomb will seperate into 3-5 shells to damage enemies within an area. Can be upgraded to seperate into 6-8 and 9-11 shells respectively. "Try and block this!"
  • Tracker Shot : Equipped with most advanced technology, these bullets automatically seek enemies. These missiles can hit flying enemies. "Death from afar."

4b.  Dragooner (Very fast attack speed) (Can hit 1-3 enemies at once) Cost to upgrade: 320, base dmg 250 - 350, attack speed 250ms, range 190

Embedded with essence of fire, this cannon tower attacks with strength of dragons.

  • Broiling Flames : A super heated bullet dealing 3000~5000 damage in an area when enemies dies. Upgrades to 9000-15000 damage. Unfortunately this is a fixed number, so its percentage increase in tower damage will decrease with tower levels. "Can you feel the heat?"
  • (passive skill: The enemy hit directly by the dragon receives a debuff with a flame icon above its head. On death, that enemy deals some damage around it to other enemies. Note that only the direct target of the dragon hit by it, not the splash damage on any other enemies near it, receives this debuff).
  • Dragon's Anger : Refined with dragon essence, unleash 2.5 fire damage upon your enemies, cool-down: 8 seconds. Will upgrade to 3 times damage with 5 second cool down, although the actual attack rate of this ability seems to be more random and sometimes faster. Of note, Dragon's Anger will attack flying enemies. "The breath of the dragon."
  • (Active skill. Makes a ring of fire on the ground, enemies inside of the ring take damage. But sadly not that much.)

4c.  Oiler (Average attack speed), cost to upgrade: 320, base dmg 530 - 1200, attack speed 1200ms, range 190

The Oiler equipped with oil cauldrons, shoot out viscous oil onto enemies slowing them down.

  • Ignition Oil : Stepping in this oil, causes enemies to be more easily ignited. "Remix to ignition."
  • (Enemies will get a black aura debuff. Affected enemies received 3x or more damage from Dragooners. It doesn't seem to interact with assassin burning bombs)
  • Jumbo Vat : This oil designed to be thick and goopy is very effective in slowing down enemies. "No where to run or hide."
  • (active skill: Fires a blob of oil which creates a big oil puddle on the ground which lasts about 5 seconds. Enemies move very slowly while on the puddle. Long cooldown.)

Mage Tower Tiers[]

1.  Mage Tower cost to build: 90, base dmg 320 - 450, attack speed 1300ms, range 140

2.  Adept Mage Tower, cost to upgrade: 120, base dmg 750 - 950, attack speed 1300ms, range 150

Adept magi have access to more powerful incantations and spells.

3.  High Mage Tower, cost to upgrade: 180, base dmg 1100 - 1400, attack speed 1300ms, range 160

The High Magi, the highest level of mages, are more powerful and faster than their mage underlings.

4a.  Geomancer Tower (Average attack speed) Cost to upgrade: 260, base dmg 1200 - 1500, attack speed 1300ms, range 170

A tower warped in from another dimension, the geomancers that man this tower have control over space and time and are not of this world.

  • Warp: Using wormholes, geomancers can teleport enemies backward along the pathway. "See you in a second!"
  • Active Skill: teleport an enemy back to the start point. Cooldown: 30s
  • Punisher: Harness the powers of justice to 1-hit-KO an enemy. (300 - 250 - 250 gold). "Death from above."
  • Active Skill: Kill an non-boss enemy in one hit. Cooldown: 60s – 50s – 45s
  • Punisher and Warp has long cool down even with level three upgrade, build large groups of them to make their ability effective.

4b.  Witch Tower (Slow attack speed) Cost to upgrade: 320base dmg 1530 - 2900, attack speed 1800ms, range 170

There are powers in the universe unique to females that can be tappedFemale magi who master this magic are initiated into the witch order.

Witch tower
  • Skill: Tornado. Active skill. "The winds of death."
    • First upgrade: Cost 300. "Tornado winds blow enemies backwards 150 units and deals small damage". Cooldown of 30 seconds. Damage is 20% of total life.
    • Second upgrade: Cost 250, changes to "Blows back 300 units, deals medium damage", and Cooldown is reduced to 25 seconds. Damage is 30% of total life.
    • Third upgrade: Cost 250, changes to "Blows back 600 units, deals high damage", and Cooldown is reduced to 20 seconds. Damage is 40% of total life.
    • Notes: Tornado does not activate but work for enemy fliers (UPD: since version .123 on AG and FB tornado now activate on fliers). It affects multiple enemies (limit not known, but I've seen 8+ enemies blown back). It does damage to the total of enemies swept away.
  • Skill: Ice Elemental: Active skill. "The wrath of Ice unleashed."
    • The witch will summon her first elemental in front of her shortly after the skill is purchased for goods. It does magic damage and has a range attack to use before enemies enter its melee aggro radius. Although not that useful, it could do comparatively heavier damage than soldiers from Recruit Barracks. The Ice Elemental and Earth Elemental resurrect where it was killed rather then respawn at tower base. Scales with fortification levels.
    • First upgrade: Cost 300. Summon an Ice Elemental to battle (10s respawn time)
    • Second upgrade: Cost 250, more health and damage.
    • Third upgrade: Cost 250, more health and damage.

4c.  Wizard Tower (Slow attack speed) base dmg 1200 - 2220, attack speed 1600ms, range 170

There are powers in the universe unique to males that can be tappedMale magi who master this magic are initiated into the wizard order.

  • Transfiguration: Transform enemies to harmless animals (it transforms only one enemy) "Baaah! Mooo!"
  • Earth Elemental: Summon an Earth Elemental to battle (10s respawn time). "The wrath of Earth unleashed."
  • (The Earth Elemental's health and damage increases with each upgrade. It does physical damage. It has more health than the Ice Elemental, but less damage.)
