Training Grounds is one of the game's buildings. It's unlocked at Kingdom Level 7
Here you can train your heroes to get huge amounts of hero experience or embed them with jewels that improve their stats.
Selecting Training or Jewelry[]
When you enter the building you will see two sections. Enter the left section for Training your Heroes. Enter the right section for equipping your Heroes with Jewels.
Training[]
Train your heroes to make them gain experience and level up. See Hero Experience for a comparison of exp gain through training vs through battles or growing Royal Wheat at the Manor.
When your hero is available for training there is a blue Train button under the Hero's avatar and his progress bar. While the hero is in training a red Speed button replaces Train and a yellow training progress bar.
You can click the Speed button to speed up the training for Diamonds. Locked training slots have the Unlock button. The button for the first slot to unlock is green.
When you click the blue Train button the Training Selection screen opens and you can select how fast and for how long the Hero will train.
The Hero receives the entire Training XP immediately. The yellow progress bar is just a cooldown counter.
Training Selection[]
You can train for Gold and Diamonds and select how fast and how long your hero will train. The more time and diamonds you invest, the more exp the hero will get.
The amount of received Training XP is calculated by taking the amount of time for training (8, 16, or 24 hours) and multiplying it by the training rate (100%, 120%, or 150%).
The result is the number next to Train Experience.
When the training slot is upgraded to a higher Training Quality level the additional experience is calculated by multiplying the Train Experience by the percentage of Extra Experience for each Training Quality level.
The actual Training XP the hero receives is the sum of Train Experience and Extra Experience.
When you select the right training options and click the blue Yes button the Training Selection screen will close and the Hero will receive the entire Training XP immediately. NOTE: Observe the blue progress bar over the red Speed button visibly progress. If the bar blinks but doesn't move to the right and the Gold and/or Diamonds were not withdrawn the connection to the server is not working and the training will not progress. Close the Training Ground screen and open the Training Ground building to repeat the entire process. The second pass fixes most problems.
The Table below lists calculated values of Train Experience and Extra Experience for each level and option in the Training Selection screen.

Extra slots[]
Additional slots allow you to train multiple heroes at the same time, speeding up their progress. You still have to pay the full price for each hero's training, so the total cost of training your heroes to a given level will be the same.
You can unlock a total of 4 slots.
As unlocking an extra slot has a cost, if you're looking for efficiency (less gold for the same training) you may want to upgrade a single slot instead (see below). Besides, growing Royal Wheat at the Manor is as efficient (though slower) as the basic slots, so if you're looking for a way to slowly level up all your heroes at the same rate, you may find that option preferable. It can still be an option if you have excess gold to burn and prefer to level up your heroes quicker (as opposed to, say, buying Tear of Shiva or Castle technology), but keep in mind that in terms of Gold/BP Ratio training heroes with a Basic slot is less efficient than buying Tears from level 21 onwards. As a summary, if you're going to unlock extra slots, you better plan to upgrade them too.

Upgraded slots[]
Slots can be upgraded. Each level of slot upgrade will give an extra 20% Exp for the same price. Each slot must be upgraded (and paid for) independently. Again, the efficient way is to keep just one upgraded slot, but when you progress through the game and start having more gold to burn daily (around the Marshlands, for example) you may want to keep two or even three upgraded slots.
Upgraded slots are both quicker and more efficient than growing Hero Wheat at the Manor. See Hero Experience for details.
Upgraded slots will change the number of times you must train a hero to make it level up and will also change the Gold/BP comparison of training Heroes against other upgrades. A 20% slot will make training heroes better than the basic ratio (50 gold/BP, for Tear of Shiva) until level 31, while a 40% slot will make Training heroes more efficient across the whole range of hero levels.

Jewelry[]

Jewelry unlocks at Kingdom Lv 13.
There are three sections in this screen. The largest one shows the jewelry of a particular hero. Across the bottom is a row of your various heroes, these buttons allow you to scroll through your heroes. Finally, on the upper right is a list of all of your currently unused jewelry. Just click on a jewel to equip it. Don't forget to "Save Setting" after you're satisfied.
From here you can go to the Forge to combine 4 jewels of the same type into a higher level one. See Jewelry for the jewel's stats and further strategy.
